Regardless of your preference, your designer will custom tailor their approach to your needs. Designers have many roles; first and foremost, they are your design consultant. They also act as a professional organizer and project manager all in one, providing key Murphy bed layouts and organization ideas to help you visualize a perfect storage solution for your space and needs.

Here’s how it all works:

We start with listening to what you want and reviewing any inspirational pictures you’ve collected. We get an idea of what you imagine and chat about what you want to accomplish, so we get a sense of who you are and what you like.

Creating Your Organizational Design

• Measuring your space. In-person consults allow us to take the measurements, while virtual consults will require you to take the initial measurements. Ultimately, we will need to take them, but we can work off the ballpark measurements you have taken for the initial planning and pricing phase.
• Taking inventory. Understanding all the items being considered in the design is critical in space planning. We call this phase and layout your “organizational needs.” If we can’t see the items you want stored, we will discuss them with you.
• Creating the design. Your designer begins the design phase with goals, measurements, and inventory. Together, you will lay out the plan for your design and incorporate your organizational needs resulting in what we call the “organizational plan.”

Once we have created your organizational design for your wall bed and the space, the fun really begins. Together you and your designer will add all the elements that truly make the design yours.

• Select the material. Murphy Bed Lifestyles’ incredible range of materials includes melamine, painted and glazed woods, stained woods, and textured melamine.
• Choose the color. Along with decorator hues of white, natural, red, and gray, we offer wood grain, decorative patterns, and textured melamine options.
• Add the accessories. Accessories are the organizational options that make the space workable for you. Charging drawers for your mobile phone, pull-out shelves that can act as a temporary nightstand, LED light strips to accentuate any section, and halogens as night lights. The options are as limitless as your imagination.

Finalizing your style:

Once we have developed your organizational design, selected the color, and added your closet’s accessories, it is time to consider the decorative elements that create your wall bed’s style. Decorative drawer faces and doors, moldings, edges, appliqués, and trims; all these things layer your look, reflect your sense of style, and truly make the space personal.

• Add enhancements. Our specialty items are utterly unique and work effortlessly to beautifully personalize a space to fit your lifestyle and individual needs. We offer all types of architectural moldings that are sure to blend into any decor you desire.
• Discuss the options. Once you’ve seen all the beautiful features, details, and enhancements, you and your Murphy Bed Lifestyles designer can take the time to review them, discuss where and how they will work, and determine how each one affects your price. Our goal is to provide you with the most incredible range of options and selections, allowing you to make an educated decision.

Make the Right Decision.

You and your designer will finalize your design with all the options and accessories you have selected. When you approve your final design and price, we set the installation date that best works with your schedule.
